Okay. As a result of all that effort grinding (in Kowloon, not Katashina), we're flush with cash again. 2,252,800 yen to be exact. Time to spend it!

We'll mirror the setup that's been working quite well for us on Mouthbreather, with a Big Turbo, a Hyper Charger, Intercooler, 6 Speed Gearbox and Racing Slicks.

We'll also add one of the last affordable tunes, Port Polishing.

This leaves us with a slot for another turbo in the future, and we have all the tunes, bar one - Traction Control, which costs 2 million yen. That is almost our entire budget for everything else!

Checking the car modification screen to apply the parts, we go from the already heavily modified 356 horsepower…

to 412 horsepower!

…. And concurrently, our bank account has gone from multi millions of yen, to a handful of spare change.

No matter! You gotta spend money to make money right?

Time to take her for a test drive. Let’s see how we perform on the street.

: The participation fee is 26,000 yen.

: Damn. I don't have enough money….

Oh crap. Didn't we just have 2 million yen a second ago?

Well, you know what they say, best way to make a small fortune in cars is to start with a large one.

: Come again.

Let's just jump ahead and enter the group B races directly. There's no entry fee for these.

Okay, first up we've got a Civic. Shouldn't be any trouble for our 412 horsepower rotary monster.

Oof. That did not go how I expected…. vs 11.20 vs 10.19...

: Damn, there's no prize money.

: Let's hurry and go home.

I genuinely was not expecting it to perform so badly…

All those mods… and we're currently slower than Mouth Breather was…

I guess it's back to modifying our car for us.

Since we're destitute and poor, we'll need cash, quickly.

We’ll skip the extended montage this time, but know that we had a down and dirty fight through several torrid floors of Kowloon Walled City, culminating in an epic battle of good versus evil against the Beast Tamer and her Killing Machine.

Okay. Now, just like that, we’ve got some extra cash, and it's time to address our performance.

First up, let's buy a second, smaller turbo. The thought process here is that perhaps it will fill the gap for quicker initial acceleration before the big turbo kicks in.

Indeed, almost all our races we always lose off the line, but are able to overtake once our big turbo kicks in.

Well, biscuits. The small turbo didn't change things much at all...

Bugger it, let's just blow another million on a second, big turbo. It will leave us poor again, but dagnamit, we have to win this!

Now, with two big turbos, she's outputting 516 horsepower. We’re now twice the power output of the stock level! (255hp)

Time to take her to the streets. Surely, surely no one can touch us now!

Looks like we're up against a Silvia.

Damn! What are we doing wrong? 10.86 vs 10.59.

It's closer, and I might win a match or two if I kept going - but I don't think I could beat the Group B unless we get more consistent. I still am struggling to get a good start!

…. Back to the Kowloon mines to earn more money I guess…
