Ok. We've now bought everything the Mexican guy owns. You can put down the gun now please.

:
The store is closing down.
Why do I get the feeling this place will suddenly disappear, as if it never existed?
Anyway, it’s time to get on the road, and make our way to the Grand Canyon!

Just another 30 hour drive. This seems to be about the average commute for Americans it seems.
And we're finally here! Welcome to the Grandest of Canyons!

What do you think of the place Hiro?

:
That's amazing. The power is nature is great.
Well said. But we all know the one thing that's better than the power of nature is the power of a turbocharged 4 cylinder.
Speaking of which, let's talk to locals. Maybe we can have a cool race through the canyon or something...

:
Umm there's a place around here where they do zero-yon. Do you have it?

:
Huh, zero-four?There's no way that could be done in a place like this.

:
That's true.
Aww.... Drats. Another location that doesn't seem to have any racing.
What else would there be to do in the Grand Canyon? perhaps a Part Time Job?

:
There's no part-time job in a place like this.
Well, that's not a surprise. What about a Shop?

:
Oh, there's a shop over there. Let's go.
Ok. Well. Odd place for an auto parts store, but we'll take it.

Woah... This isn't a car shop. This is a gun shop. We truly are in America!
: Huh? Is this a gun shop?

:
That's right.
: Are you Japanese? So it's better to practice before you buy it.
What's he trying to say? That we wouldn't be responsible with weapons because we're Japanese? Why, Hiro is the most level headed person out there, and definitely can be trusted with weapons.

:
There's a shooting range along the national highway, so go and check it out.

:
Okay, I'll go.

:
I can't admit that I mistook it for a car shop now.
Hiro buddy, this is America. You don't need to justify buying a gun. As I understand it, everyone has one here, including preschool children.

:
To the shooting range that the shop owner mentioned.Shall we go?
The game gives us a choice here. Clearly we want to go shoot some guns. I mean, this is a car racing game, after all.

:
Welcome. Ah, you're Japanese. There are a lot of Japanese customers here.
Interesting. I gather Japanese tourists must like to fire guns, because they are extremely rare in Japan.
Though when I was in Japan, I was flabbergasted to walk into a second hand store and see a entire wall to ultra realistic looking airsoft guns for sale, that would get you shot by the police in any other country.

:
Shoot the gangster and get 500 points.Anything else.If you shoot by mistake, you lose 500 points.

:
The prize for over 9,000 points is a top-of-the-line bulletproof vest, the same one used by Al Capone.
Same one used by Al Capone eh? Wouldn't that be 1920's vintage? I wouldn't exactly call that state of the art. It's probably a couple of steel cooking trays tied together with some string.

:
It's $20 each time though.Of course we'll do it.
All right Goons! We are once again given a choice whether we want to shoot some guns. There's really no question here.

:
That's the way it should be. Use the cursor to aim. Press the I or II button to fire.
: Good luck.

Huh. And now we have the latest in the many mini-games this game has to offer... A shooting gallery!
Here's a video of me trying it out:
This is actually really hard. The enemies appear super quick, and there's various innocents in the mix to distract you. The controls are super sensitive, and the cursor moves much further than i would expect it to every-time I hit the keys.
However, the main thing to take from this, is that bad guys all seem to wear business suits. Perhaps this is a statement from this gun club.
To get the bullet proof vest as a prize, you can only miss two shots. This would be stupidly hard, but thanks to the power of save states, I was able to get through it pretty quickly.

:
Congratulations! Here's a bulletproof vest as a prize!
: The performance is guaranteed!
Well, to be honest that's a pretty easy thing to say, because in the event this thing doesn't work, they wouldn't need to honour that guarantee...
Generally curious what this vest does, whether it's just extra armour for the security guard fights, or will have some gameplay relevance later. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

:
Please come again.
Well. That was the Grand Canyon I guess. Tourists and guns. Time to take a nap and think about what's next...
