Thanks for the input Goons!

I took your advice, and rather than mashing the accelerator, I experimented with taking my foot off the accelerator whenever the wheels started to spin, letting the RPM drop, then engaging again.

The real game changer I found was hitting first to third, in a way that would gain traction.

Here’s a video of what that looks like against the same opponent. I also took the opportunity to listen to CD1. Thanks Shifty!

I eventually started to get used to this odd way of shifting, and easily won the various race wagers.

This is even with regular road tyres. There’s an option for rain tyres, but I guess like Formula One nowadays, it seems no one ever bothers with them.

I suspect our picking of the GTI-R was a good one, because I don’t suspect a rear wheel drive car would have been able to get the same traction.

The red Porsche above was the highest wage for wet races, so it seems we’ve got this series in the bag. Like in the dry races, defeating the high tier unlocks the ability to call and arrange a boss race.

: I’m starting to get used to this course. I wonder who’s the fastest on a wet course?

: Let’s hear it.

: Um, I just want to ask something…

Gah, who’s this? I’m getting mad scientist vibes from him.

: The fastest car here is a Camaro, it’s way faster than most.

Ooh, finally, some ‘Murican muscle! Perhaps they are reserved for the boss battles…

: Hmm, so it’s a Camaro. Thank you very much.

Alright, time to head home and make a phone call...
