Alright! We did it! We beat that Chevy!
And we got a 12.81!
That’s a huge improvement from 18 seconds!

:
Congratulations. Here’s your $100 prize.

I’ll be taking a part in the next race too?
Yes, why not. Let’s race again.
Ok. Same setup as before. We’ll select the slick tyres, but this time let’s up the ante, and bet $100…

Oh hey, our opponent is a VW Beetle! Awesome. I guess we’ve got European cars in this game too.
The original Beetle probably deserves its own post, but it had its origin in Nazi Germany and was in continual production up until 2003. That’s 65 years of production, the longest of any car in history. And I’m not talking about that ugly Beetle 2 thing we all got in the mid aughts - they kept producing the original in third world countries for decades.

Hah, that V-dub looks so tiny… in my rear view mirror!

Got him! 12.89 sec vs 14
Let’s try the $150 tier.

Ooh, this guy looks like an old Porche 356!
This was the first Porche ever made, and more or less was a race variant of the Volkswagen Beetle, with a very similar rear-engined, air cooled setup.
These are pretty cars!

Pretty… SLOW cars, when put up against our JIMNY!

They’re getting closer though, 13.5 to our 13!
That tuning / parts shop turned out to give us some significant gains. It almost feels like we've fast forwarded the game a bunch. Or maybe I just have low expectations from our Nissan March last time around, which took the better part of a year to be fast enough to win even a single race.
You know, maybe buying and tuning a cheap car wasn’t a bad tactic after all!
Let’s try the $200 tier. I’m feeling like we’re on a roll here.

Ooh wow, it’s a FERRARI TESTAROSSA!
When I started today, I thought we’d just be racing American muscle cars. I didn’t think we’d be encountering Italian supercar royalty!

I know I say this a lot, but I think the Testarossa is one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
God, just look at it! I think just about every teenager in the 80’s would have had this on their bedroom wall… Probably with some busty, bushy haired lady adorned across the hood.
It was also a crazy engineering feat of its time, with a flat, 12 cylinder mid-engined, rear wheel drive layout.
Let’s see how it holds up against our…. 3 cylinder, 800cc… Suzuki… Jimny…
