It’s here…. Prepare for the most extraordinary event of your lifetime that will change the trajectory of mankind…
… At least, according to the television commercials…
Yes! We finally have a car… even if it is a Jimny… and there are new options available at the Ranch! Let's check it out.

The Look menu now has some subcategories
- Cars and Parts
- Garage, and
- Items
The Cars and Parts menu now shows us our our Suzuki Jimny!.

Interestingly, we now have ‘Car Change' and Tune options. This seems to imply we can have more than one car! Neat.
I’m not really sure why we’d need more than one, if this is like the first game and we just need to be the fastest - but perhaps we can’t sell them anymore…
The Tune button gives us a Dyno screen, and presumably any aftermarket parts we’ve installed:

Boy, that is a really depressing looking curve on the left there… 58 horsepower… Who’s idea was it to buy this thing again?
The main menu ‘Garage’ option is interesting…

It appears we can remove cars from the Garage, and park them in the Street. I’m guessing we’ve got limited parking in the barn.

The Items window is interesting too. I think this is like the Items in the first game, which I never quite fully figured out.
Looks like we have a single item, Kayo-chans photo

Dawwwwww…..
And we have the ability to equip and de-quip it. I wonder if this gives us a stat boost or something? Or perhaps we need to dequip it should Hiro come across any... travel girlfriends.
Now, let's take a moment to talk about our new wheels!

The Suzuki Jimny is a car with a long and storied history. They actually first started making these in the early 1970s, and is one of the few examples of a Kei car that has had success outside Japan. They’ve almost continually been in production in various countries and forms this entire time.
You might know it as the Suzuki Samarai, or the Suzuki Sierra, or one of its countless other names or variants.

The one we bought is the second generation, though keen eyes might notice the BeamNG model is the latest 2018 model, which we’ll let pass, since it’s a pretty great retro design.
In Japan, to keep with the Kei car regulations, the Jimny had very low power output and small displacement engines. For example, this second generation had a 650cc motor and 58 horsepower. But when sold overseas, the car was made wider, longer and were given bigger 1 litre plus engines to suit markets that didn’t have these strange regulations.
Though, despite the fact we’re supposedly in America, with this being a Japanese game… we appear to have the Japanese model. With all those glorious 58 horses...
These cars came about at a time where they started to make Kei variants of everything. What was initially commuter cars, turned into trucks and vans, then turned into sports cars. Naturally, a four wheel drive Kei offroader made sense, right?
And these things have quite the reputation as a capable offroader!

Like how horsepower queens might scoff at a Miata / MX5 only for it to be dust them on a autocross track, the Jimny is often scoffed at by those wierdo Four Wheeler enthusiasts in their bigger Nissan Patrols or Landcruisers, only to find themselves being overtaken on the hill by the nimble Jimny given its crazy lightweight frame and agile size.

You know… I think these things are growing on me….
But I’m sure it’s very small wheelbase and tall frame makes them quite terrifying trying to do anything particularly racy on the road. Wouldn’t want to take a corner on one of these too fast... I’m sure rolling one would not be pretty…
Down under, we knew these as the Suzuki Sierra, a much less odd name. They were also sold as the “Holden Drover’
And, I usually try to limit these to a commercial each… but boy, does the Jimny have some commercials.
I think whoever mentioned earlier in the thread that we should be cruising California beaches in this thing for chicks is right. Check out the amazing Aussie advert:
…Whether we’d get any is another thing. Especially since they were sold with this commercial in the United States.
Seriously, I'm hoping that ad agency went under, and whoever signed off on this was fired. It makes the Jimny look like the most unappealing car on the planet!
The Japanese commercial was much better. Mainly because, being Japanese, of course it involves Godzilla.
