Nowaday’s when most people think ‘Supra’ they think of the A80, or Mark IV - aka the orange one that was in Fast and the Furious.
But that model didn’t come about until 1993 - in 1991, it was all about the A70 or Mark III Supra.

Introduced in 1986, this Supra was the first of the Supra’s to become their own brand - previous Supra’s had been known as the ‘Celica-Supra’ - and were effectively the powerful performance oriented variants of the Celica, with 6 cylinder engines and wider / longer bodies, instead of the standard 4 cylinders.

Whilst the Celica’s of this era started to go down a more boring path of front wheel drive, trendy little coupes - the Supra decided to keep the rear wheel drive and become the top power house of Toyota’s lineup.
Whilst we got these in the western markets, and it’s not too uncommon to see a survivor still floating around - as usual - we never got these crazy twin turbo variants that the Japanese had access to, like this one here.
A seriously cool car that still looks great today.
And we know this car came from 1986, because it’s commercial is completely ripping off the 1984 music video for Aha's Take On Me
All in all, a powerhouse of a car, with Toyota reliability. that we couldn’t go wrong with.
