But! Before we do, I’d like to take the moment to talk about a pussy of another kind. One that belongs to our dearly departed Nissan March iZ.





Did you know that it's car key… is a cat?





Apparently, the television commercials for the car featured a ginger cat, which became a mascot for the car. So, as a tie in, they had this unique key design. It’s even referenced in the owners manual. 

The cat's name is ‘Asashio’ and was the unofficial mascot for the car.





It’s rather hard to find these sorts of details, what with the language barrier and all - but Yahoo Auctions Japan even seems to have random merch that was given away with the car.

Ahhh… Only in Japan…

Had I known this, we would have named the March ‘Asashio’. Apparently this is Japanese for Morning Tide.  An appropriate metaphor for the car that started us on this journey.... 

Uh, yes. Right where were we? Oh yeah. That’s right. XXXX!
