the top priority is things that'll make our car look more like a racecar. get all three spoilers and nothing else
Great idea. You guys know Hiro well. Parts purchased and installed, courtesy of Stubborn Gan-san. We’ve even still got 179,000 left to spare.
Unfortunately 1991 was a bit too early to show the visual results of our modifications on sprites, but in 2025 we have a thing called AI. So I fed it a prompt: ‘A 1980’s Nissan March with a front spoiler, side skirts and rear wing.’

Nailed it! This technology is getting more impressive every day. It even accounted for his misunderstanding what we meant by ‘front spoiler’.
: Good luck!!
That was nice. Clearly Stubborn Gan-San Is confident in our ability to win races now. With good reason too - Anyone would think twice about racing a car wiith a both front and rear wings.
Let's go back to Grass, and see if she has any challengers for us.
: Okay! At the grass race I’ll make you money!
: Good Car. Are you here to race? I’ll hurry up with your car?
Looks like Grass is even more impressed with our ride this time.
And it looks like our nemesis, the Mazda Familia is back. They don’t stand a chance!
: Would you like to make a wager for 1,000 yen?
Interestingly Grass has dropped the wager amount. It was 3,000 yen last time. Clearly she sees our hotted up car, realises we have a strong chance in this race and doesn’t want to take a risk.

Ok. Here we are again at the traffic lights. I’m a little more confident now, what with our hotted up body modifications, and spare spoiler, just in-case. It's a shame we can't see them here. We're on the left.
As before, we rev our engines, wait for the light to turn green. I hold the RPM gauge at around 6.5k, clutch in, in first gear. I drop the clutch, wheels spinning and take off!

Ooops. Looks like the light wasn’t green yet. Apparently a false start is 'Flying' - thankfully they gave me a do-over.
More confident this time, I dump the clutch the minute the light turn greens and screech off.
Hey it’s working! We’re neck and neck!....
….And now he’s ahead of us…
…And now we’ve lost…

: That is... unfortunate.
Grr… Familia! I’ll have you one day!
But on the bright side, we hit 125kph and a 18.6 second quarter mile zero four. That’s significantly better than the 86kph we hit the first time. It’s possible this could be attributed to the fact I (sort of) figured out how I’m supposed to the shifting, but I think it really has a lot to do with our mods.
After all, we should have less air pollution, more safety and our tyres are now pressed by the power of air!
