Our hapless hero seems hell bent on winning this Zero4 judging from that intro. He must have some pretty serious wheels to back up his ambition.
I'll choose 'See the data' - which I think is a translation for 'Check out our boys whip'
Well lookie here. A Nissan March…
Now I'm a fan of little old Japanese nuggets, and the Nissan March (or Micra as it was sold here) is certainly one of those.
These were available in ''Super Turbo Versions' that sound really cool. Both a supercharger, AND a turbo charger, 110 horses in a car that weighs 620kg? That sounds rad as hell!
Hiro's March apparently has 52 horse power. Uh, I don't think it's a Super Turbo. It might help with gettting to the local Up-Garage to buy some custom door stickers, but it’s not really going to cut it for ZERO 4, is it?
But, Hiro has clear ambition, and I’ll bet the early parts of this game will take it fairly easy on us before we need to upgrade.
So far this game has been a lot of talking, menus and an undeserved character assassination on a Toyota MR2. It's about time we see some racing!
And, I'm pretty sure 'Grass Lace' is supposed to mean 'Grass Race' given there's no R's in the Japanese language. So I'll select that.
: OK! I’ll make money in grass races!
Still not clear on what grass means. Maybe it's slang for money? We certainly need it. 300,000 yen is about 3,000 Australian bucks. Not exactly much to work with.
Hey, it’s that girl from before. It seems like she’s the organiser of these ‘grass races’. Let's call her 'Grass' so we can stop coming to conclusions what it means.
: Good car! Are you hear to race? I'll find someone to challenge you.
Look, Grass complimented us on our Nissan March! Clearly she's got good taste in cars.
: How about you race a Familia?
Ooh, good choice, a Madza Familia, another little Japanese kei econo box. We're going to smoke this fool!
Would I like to make a wager on this race, say 3,000 yen?
